R&B singer Trey Songz was arrested in Springfield, Massachusetts on Sunday, November 4, 2007 along with several members of his entourage following a shooting outside a club.

Trey Songz was charged with behaving as a disorderly person and resisting arrest.

The shooting took place in the parking lot of The Hippodrome, where the singer performed Saturday night .

Police are still investigating whether Trey Songz had something to do with the shooting.

The singer was connected to another incident less than a month ago in Atlanta.

Cam'ron on MISSINFO

Ok, sorry for the delay, fell asleep early yesterday….trying to get through the West Village Halloween parade after work was exhausting. Mentally and physically, lol.But the extent of my trick or treating consisted of catching up with my fellow Harlemite, Cam’ron. I know y’all aren’t interested in all the regular conversation, so here are the pertinent rap parts…

I asked Cam why he seemingly dropped off the face of the planet this past spring, especially after that infamous youtube clip. One minute he was telling 50 Cent it was going to be a hot summer, and the next minute, Cam was M.I.A. But he said when the beef with 50 cent, the Tru Life and Jim Jones’ beef, and his altercation with Tru Life, all happened one right after the other, he got hit by a family emergency that took priority. Cam’s mom suffered a number of strokes that left her paralyzed on her left side. He moved her to Florida for a while, set up her rehabilitation and therapy, and kept an eye on her: “I told her, you not dying on my watch.”
[sidenote: I’m glad to hear Cam’s mom is doing better, Ms. Frederica is a real character. Back in the day, she even got her son to give her some burn on a song, “Me, My Moms, and Jimmy,” off Confessions of Fire album. “You think Cam’s nice, he’s a son of a gun,” lol.]

Cam says that while he was dealing with the personal, there were business issues as well. “Also, me and Asylum weren’t seeing eye to eye at the time. But we recently worked things out. We had a conversation with the lawyers and with Todd (Moscowitz), so now we’re straight. I wasn’t gonna drop the mixtape until that happened….”

But all the while, Cam said he was also watching how other people were reacting to his absence.

“Even when I had my mom situated, she had the help she needs, the physical therapy, everything was right–that was like a month ago—I still laid low, because when I come out it’s gonna be done it right. But I just sat back and bugged out at how everyone else was acting.

I heard all the rumors, mad felonious shit, fake shit.
And I would tell n—as, my moms just had a stroke, and they’d be like ‘Oh, ok, so are you still coming through?’ Fam, what is wrong with you?”

(Which does seem mad shady, but I cant say I’m surprised. This business has a way of messing up peoples’ priorities. Anyways, I asked Cam, ‘What about all those Cam’ron sightings? The last time we spoke was when you posted the youtube video, so I didn’t know if those rumors were real or not.’)

Exactly. I ain’t talked to nobody, but I kept hearing all these stories. Cam was in a car crash. Cam was begging for a deal. Some hood DVD dudes were up up on [140th st] to try to find me. Folks were asking for interviews.

My thing is, it felt like folks were tryin’ to strong arm me into showing up for shit.
Like, no disrespect to BET, but I was watching one day and they announced ‘Cam is gonna be on 106 and Park. He’s gonna talk about his new album…’
I just started laughing, like, what is you talking about? Nothing about that was true.
What’s so funny is that in the past, I always had to go through mad shit just to get them to play a new video or whatever. But now I’m seeing those two tell me what I’m doing.
But nobody can force me to do anything or be anywhere….I can afford to chill out. I mean, I get 1.5 million dollars just to hand my album in, but I’m still not rushing.

I could have come back a month ago….but instead I said, ‘Alright, Duke, block all my calls, shut down the interviews…’

(So what about the rumor that you were seen shopping for a deal at some indie label…)

I went to meet with my man Jeff Kempler, I’ve known him for years, and now that he’s [executive vice president] over at Virgin, he called me over to catch up. So then we walked around the office, and Fat Joe’s label [Imperial Records] is in the same building.

(I guess it was your silence that was making folks jump to conclusions…)

“Yo I’m killin’ n—as with my silence! Me not saying nothing is driving people crazy…”

(Well since it’s clear you’ve been keeping up with the Cam’ron rumor mill, what did you think about what your peers were saying? 50 Cent joked about you being missing….)

But here’s the funny thing about it. They all say Cam’s missing… You look at 50 Cent and Kanye West. They came out after, like two years since their last records. Meanwhile, I put out a movie, an album, executive-produced four albums this summer…Y’all n—as be missing. I be out every year, fam.

(During an interview with MTV, Jim Jones said finding you was like “finding Nemo.” And in a youtube interview with Mikey Fresh, Jimmy said “Cam’ron is in his own world.”)

He’s right, I live on Pluto, and I take a spaceship home every night. Hahaha…

(Well, I guess you’re about to phone home. Next week, you’ll be back out with a double mixtape, Public Enemy #1. Are you working on a new album as well?)

Yeah. Actually I was in the middle of recording the album when everything happened. I had maybe a full CD of music since May or June. Now I’m looking to drop the album in February or March, 2008. But with all this nonsense going on, I had to put out this double CD real quick. And you know how I am, I don’t like to sit on old tracks so I decided to throw like 40 songs on there and make the mixtape free.
The video we posted on [killacamspace] was just to make fun of the way ppl was acting. But in the hood, it was nothing like that. Everybody just been showing love like ‘Yo, please come back out. We need that.”

(So, what is the state of Dipset right now? I’ve talked to Jim Jones about his new projects and new record deal. And last week he told me about his new mixtape, which is dropping one day before yours. But he made a point of shouting out “Dipset for life.” Which seemed encouraging to me…Have you and Jimmy talked yet?)

I still haven’t spoken to Jim. But Jim ran with me for over 10 yrs, he worked hard, and I wish him the best of luck.
Everybody thinks I’m mad at Jim. Why am I mad? I told people for years that Jimmy was gonna be a star. So its better on my resume…I wish him the best.
The only thing is, him being with 50, I can’t really run with that. Hang out with who you want to hang out…but me, I can’t really do nothing like that.

(What did you think when 50 brought Jimmy and Juelz onstage with him to perform “Ballin’?”)

Actually, that was a great move for 50. First, he had Jim and Jeelz, then he brought out Remy Ma and J-Hood, then I even saw Whoo kid on TV with Gillie the Kid goin’ at Lil Wayne. I commend him for that. You’re really snatching a person from they own set. And then you also are seeing these n—as’ potential…

(So do you address this on Public Enemy #1?)

I make a comment but I keep it moving. On the first joint, I talk for like 6 minutes. I still get at 50. The Tru Life shit. I clear that shit up. And I also address the NYPD, the Intel squad…How they dragged me in during the whole Jay-Z and 50 Cent beef and tried to get me to talk about them….all that shit.

(And knowing how Cam talks trash with the best of them, I’m pretty sure that will be an entertaining 6 minute rant. But before we hung up, I had to ask him about that cryptic message he sent my homies at MTV last week: “Killa Season again, you little yentas***,” “November 7th. Cam’ron is anonymous. Dipset!”

Hahaha, of course! You know my lawyers are Jewish, they be saying that all the time. So then I was watching Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Larry David—I fucks with Larry—he called Ted Danson a ‘yenta.’ Yo, I fell out laughing. That shit was crazy. I said, that’s exactly what all these folks are doin’, gossiping about me. Yentas. That’s where the ‘Cam’ron is anonymous’ came from too. Did you see that episode? That’s my shit. You have HBO On Demand? Its episode 52….

DJ Khaled isn't one to toot his own horn — he's more likely to huff and puff and blow the whole brass section down. So, when he spoke to Mixtape Monday about his new video — the clip for the remix to "I'm So Hood" that features Ludacris, Young Jeezy, Lil Wayne, Fat Joe, T-Pain, Rick Ross, Big Boi from OutKast, Birdman and Busta Rhymes — the Miami jock was definitely enthusiastic about his latest product.

"It's hip-hop history," Khaled said. "It's historical, phenomenal, amazing. The lineup alone is nothing but star-studded superstars that are big in the game. And [for] the video shoot, the whole hip-hop game came out."

The shoot — for which artists were filmed in front of green screens, with images of their 'hoods being added behind them later — happened just over two weeks ago in Atlanta, during the same weekend the BET Hip-Hop Awards took place. Dayo and Ruch, protégés of Khaled's longtime director Gil Green, helmed the video, and Khaled got his casting director on with everyone in town. He put in some calls, and word spread quickly, spurring Swizz Beats, KRS-One, Doug E. Fresh, Webbie, E-40, Diamond D, Cassidy, Bushwick Bill, Jim Jones and Juelz Santana to also show up for the shoot.

"These are all the people besides the people rapping on the record! The cameos alone are like a movie. It just shows that everybody can come together to have a good time. And that's what DJ Khaled brings to the table. DJ Khaled the brand, we the best, and you know, it's just music and love."

Although Khaled's love movement was in full effect, it's not exactly all-encompassing, particularly when it comes to G-Unit's Young Buck. The Tennessee titan has been railing against Khaled in various interviews recently, claiming the DJ has blackballed his music in Miami.

"He's a liar," Khaled countered. "Tell him to make a hit record. Tell him to do me the biggest favor — tell him I said this, tell him I said it in big letters — stop making excuses and make a hit record. Tell him he's garbage. I don't have time for the negative stuff. That's not even my style. I hate when somebody makes an excuse when their music doesn't get played. You think I'm not playing it? The whole country isn't playing it. Put that in the interview. Tell me: Is he on 'TRL'? Is he on the MTV countdown? OK, so that's one other [outlet] that's not playing him. Radio stations aren't playing him right now because he doesn't have a hit record. You can't stop a hit record. If I don't make a hit record, I'm not gonna get played. 50 Cent don't make a hit record, he's not gonna get played. Same for Nas; it's just the game. I'll pray for [Young Buck], but tell him to stop worrying about me. And tell him this: You can't stop a brother that's loved, and I'm loved."

Let's get right down to the heart of it: Is Lil Wayne dissing 50 Cent on his new Tha Carter III song "Gossip," when he says, "Stop hating on a niggaa. That is a weak emotion/ The lady of a nigga," and, "Put a body bag and an apron on a niggaa"?

50, of course, has openly been trying to bait Wayne in interviews and in songs with jabs here and there. So is Wayne addressing Fif? "Of course not," the Uptown Hollygrove Fireman scoffed. Wayne says if he has a problem with someone, they won't have to hear a song to know it.

"I recorded that song in 2006," he explained about "Gossip." "I don't make records or say anything about people. I don't beef with people. Everybody knows that. ... My words are more important than you. I got kids listening to me. I got grown folk listening to me. I got intelligent people listening to me. I want the words I say to come across [as] important. I want you to relate those words to me, not some guy or some girl. If you hear about me beefing with somebody, you gonna hear about it when I'm in jail."

The conversation took a 180-degree turn when Wayne started talking about the Hot Boys. Yes, the reunion in is full swing, and he promises an album from himself, Turk, B.G. and Juvenile sometime in 2008. Some of them have already been working together.

"You are gonna get it. It ain't no new members," Wayne explained. "We done matured and grown into our own situations.

"Capability," he added about how they were able put their differences aside. "Everybody is capable of doing. Everybody is down with it. We're all good. 2008! We started working on some things right now. We got something coming on Juvie's album [the yet-unscheduled Diary of a Soulja] though."

Last week Wayne told MTV News that on December 18 he'll release Tha Carter III: The Leak. That collection will consist of four new songs as well as bootlegged material, such as "Prostitute Flang" and "I Feel Like Dying." His next proper studio album, Tha Carter III, has a tentative date of February 12.

"I got a big album, man," he said. "I'm afraid. I ain't never do nothing like this ... Justin Timberlake and Timberland is on there. Eminem, I got the craziest song for him. I haven't sent it over yet though."

Another track Weezy is considering is his own version of Playaz Circle's "Duffle Bag Boyz." He sings the hook on the first version of the track and raps on the remix.

Meanwhile, his own guest-appearance card remains filled to the brim. He appears on Jay-Z's American Gangster LP on a song called "Hello Brooklyn," then there's Fat Joe's just-released "The Crack House" and, of course, Kanye West's "Barry Bonds."

"That's not my choice, man," he laughed when asked whether there will be a video for "Barry Bonds." "Somebody else gotta make that call. I'm ready. I'm ready whenever, wherever."

As for "The Crack House," Wayne said, "Joe called me and was like, 'Weezy, I need another one. We did it on "Make It Rain." I need one better, harder, and I need the hook to be stupid.' I said, 'I'mma try my hardest. That [hook] was my first submission. Anybody I do a song for, I let them know, "If you don't like this one, I got another one. If you don't like that one, I got another one." ' We did it." ...

If Jay-Z gets his wish, Jadakiss will be a part of the Roc very soon. Hov has been in negotiations with Ruff Ryders to get the black Babe Ruth on his label through Def Jam. It's almost a done deal.

"Well, I've been actually trying to get Jadakiss to come to Roc-A-Fella/ Ruff Ryders for a minute," he said. "It's not done. It's in the final stages, though. I spoke to [co-CEO] Dee [Dean] and all of them about doing something really special with a Roc-A-Fella/ Ruff Ryders collaboration."

Jay drops his American Gangster LP on November 6 and the next video from the album will be "Roc Boys." A movie for his album — not to be confused with the November 2 Denzel Washington movie that inspired the album — is also coming down the line.

"I'mma shoot a video but try to shoot it [so that] I can add scenes from it into the movie," Hov told us a couple of days before "Roc Boys" went into production. "It's gonna take a minute to get this movie together; writing it and getting the right people to do it." ...

ATLANTA (AP) — A federal judge ordered rapper T.I. released on $3 million bond Friday, but he must remain in home confinement while he awaits trial on weapons charges.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Alan Baverman said the singer must remain under house arrest at a home in Henry County. He wasn't more specific about the location.

T.I. (real name: Clifford Harris) will be monitored 24 hours a day by a private monitoring service that he must pay for.

He's restricted to the home except under certain circumstances, including medical appointments and court appearances. He cannot own any firearms and cannot have contact with any witnesses or informants in the case.

Noting that T.I has a team of highly qualified attorneys, the judge said: "You shouldn't do anything that will undermine their ability to represent you."

Universal Music Group is faced with losing $84 million in state investments unless they change the album title of rapper Nas' forthcoming release, Ni**er.

According to local New York news outlet, The Brooklyn Paper, Assemblyman Hakeem Jeffries (D-Fort Greene) has requested that Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli withdraw the $84 million that New York's state pension fund has invested in Universal and its parent company, Vivendi.

"[They are] profiting from a racial slur that has been used to dehumanize people of color for centuries," Jeffries said. "It is time for Nas and other hip-hop artists to clean up their act and stop flooding the airwaves with the N-word."

Despite prior reports that the Queens MC's album title, Ni**a, was shut down by Def Jam, Nas has since clarified that his new album will be called Ni**er.

Although Universal did not respond to The Brooklyn Paper's request for comment, a spokesman for DiNapoli, who manages the pension fund, said the comptroller "is concerned about this issue and is intending to contact the company and urge them not to release the album."

In February, the Council passed legislation urging people not to use the racial slur. Jeffries, a former assistant general counsel at CBS and lawyer at Viacom, said he is more interested in impacting the industry's bottom line.

"It's a staggering amount of money, which at least justifies a review of the appropriateness of the content that is flooding the public," he said.

Relevance in the rap game is occasionally a long time coming, and frequently elusive. Jim Jones, who only recently became a major artist in his own right after years in the Diplomats’ trenches, seems to have a handle on the importance of strategy in prolonging his run. Through his tactics of aggressive competition and frequent label maneuverings, most recently with Sony, Jones has kept his name buzzing heavily in the media. And while the Diplomats collective is in an apparent state of disarray, Jim Jones is pushing forward with a movement of his own, Byrd Gang.

Not one to idly sit back and enjoy the fruits of his recent rise to rap stardom, the Capo is investing heavily in the group he built from the ground up with resources from Warner/Asylum. Consisting of Jim Jones, Max B, Mel Matrix, and N.O.E., the Byrd Gang is now preparing to infiltrate the mainstream with their debut album due this winter. In an earnest entreaty to defend his position and win the ears of listeners beyond Byrd Gang’s present day following, Jim Jones speaks to AllHipHop.com about the internal strife that has befallen the Diplomats, the question of loyalty, and the formation of his new team.

AllHipHop.com: Let’s start off by addressing the Cam’ron situation. Your rise to success seemed to coincide with Cam’s retreat from the game. Was that a coincidence, or did your success affect him in a negative way?

Jim Jones: I don’t know if it affected Cam, Cam be in his own world sometimes. At the end of the day, I can tell you Cam is still my brother. But right now he’s going through something that he’s going through, and ‘til he snaps out of it there is nothing you can tell a grown man. He is still one of the more talented people as far as music; you can’t take that away from him. I’m still a Diplomats artist; I’m still Diplomats ‘til the day I die. Byrd Gang is a subsidiary of Diplomats, one of my business ventures – it’s my own thoughts on everything I felt I should be doing as far as having a label or a movement. It’ll be another Diplomats album, definitely, and with that one comes a lot of controversy. So we’ll still sell some records; it’ll shock the world.

AllHipHop.com: Do you think that Jay-Z, by responding to you and not Cam, and 50, by taunting that Cam was demoted to soldier, exacerbated the tension between you and Cam?

Jim Jones: That s**t between me and Cam ain’t got nothing to do with those comments. It’s just deeper and more political. It was so crazy at the time that it made it look like that. But the s**t that me and Cam was going through, we was going through regardless of whether all these other things were happening or not. We was bound for what we getting into right now, whether the Jay thing happened or whether the Cam and 50 feud happened. Without all that, me and him was bound to bump heads. That was just written.

AllHipHop.com: At the same time, your rapprochement with 50 Cent and comments about Cam’ron have made some question your loyalty. How do you address those criticisms?

Jim Jones: Business is business. That s**t that Cam had going on with 50 was frivolous. At the end of the day, people gotta understand, 50 is still the number one artist in the world. [Not] too many people are selling more records than him, I don’t care what genre you in. And at the same time, 50 Cent is still in our generation, as far as how we run through this game. And there’s supposed to be some kind of rapport, some type of alliance among us as far as being peers. I’ve been watching the game and nobody dying. Where I’m from, if you beef somebody gonna end up dead, shot, stabbed, something gonna happen. So for me, it’s all jokes until someone cross the gunline. So until that happens, I’ma go get my money, I’ma do my business. I am Diplomats ‘til the day I die – nobody can question my integrity or question my loyalty. I have no plans to do nothing other than Diplomats business, whatever that may be. It’s always Diplomats first.

AllHipHop.com: Hell Rell’s recent comments about you do seem to suggest a divide in the group…

Jim Jones: Hell Rell and 40 Cal, that’s a touchy situation. If you listen to Hell Rell, he made a couple of statements that he retracted in his recent interviews. But I heard him on a few more interviews and he refused to say anything crazy out his mouth. Hell Rell is just an artist. If you want to put it in street terms, he’s just a soldier. If you want to put it in chess, he’s just a pawn, you smell me? So his opinion really don’t make no money, regardless how you say it, so the s**t don’t count. He’s like a kid who feels like his parents are going through a divorce, which they’re not. He’s just venting how he feels, but he’s opinionless, really, if you look at it. He had an album coming out, he was trying.

AllHipHop.com: What led to the breakdown of unity in the group?

Jim Jones: There’s really no breakdown in the unity in the group, it’s two brothers going at it. I know a lot of brothers that’s always beefing. With Juelz Santana nothing changed, it’s no picking sides; it’s no big divorce going on. It’s just something me and Cam is going through, everything else is still Diplomats. If people see me going hard on the ventures and on my business, that’s because that’s what you supposed to do, give it your all. Right now I got a chance to do a Byrd Gang venture and I gotta give it 150%, I gotta go hard with it. Right now Dipset is at a standstill, I gotta step on to the next thing. I always gotta make money, you understand?

AHH: So the Byrd Gang venture is your focus right now. How did you go about picking the Byrd Gang team?
Jim Jones: I picked those individuals that I thought was the most talented in more than just one way. Not just the music, but the life that they living. They are talented as far as staying alive in the streets and avoiding all the obstacles that the streets may show you. The easiest thing is being in the studio and getting in the booth. The hardest thing is making it to the studio and surviving in the streets. Some of these ni***s had to go to jail just to get here, some of us still go to jail trying to get a better life. As far as the music is concerned, these ni***s is the bomb. They way more talented then I could ever be as far as music is concerned, they really get it. I’ve been doing this for a minute and I got a little knack for picking people who are really good at doing music, having that food that the people in the streets need to eat.

AllHipHop.com: With that street credibility comes sobering events such as the death of $tacks and the legal troubles of Max B. How do you face those risks and losses, both from a business angle and a personal angle?

Jim Jones: These are things we have been dealing with all our lives as far as taking risks and losses. Unfortunately, I lost someone that was close to me. $tacks was growing to be a little brother of mines. And we just been cheated in life. More than anything he was a friend, rapping was just one facet we got to see of his life. We didn’t know what else the Lord had in store for him.

AllHipHop.com: What would you say each of the members bring to the group?

Jim Jones: Max is just a different individual when it comes to music, he chooses to harmonize his music in a different way. Some people call it singing, we call it that wave. And he raps real hard, like he got a lot of different styles to him. He’s more of… how could I say… he got a couple different people in him. He got a little Rick James flair with him, then he got a little Biggie with him, then he can go Makaveli. He got lot of spices with him.

Mel Matrix is just so gutter. When I met Matrix, I went to his block – he from Marcus Garvey in Brooklyn. The first time I took him out he damn near ain’t never been in Manhattan. So that goes to show you what he been into in his life, he really been in them streets of Brooklyn. That’s not an easy place to be, and that’s what he depicts in his music – all the struggles he been through and all the struggles he still going through. And that gangbang affiliation he has is a whole other realm, that is a whole other obstacle we go through in the hood as far as gangs and kids killing young kids, and all that’s in the music. So woo woo to Mel Matrix, keep your head up, homie.

N.O.E. is like a real mature hustler’s mind, he really paints a real vivid picture in a different way. Everbody’s flow varies, everybody definitely has a different lane that we all follow. But it’s all towards one course, so it’s a real good sound. The kid NOE got some shit some people would he sounds like Jay-Z, but he spit hard.

AllHipHop.com: Without $tack Bundles around, would you say that the group had to collectively step its game up?
Jim Jones: With $tacks gone there’s a void that will never be able to be filled, no matter how much we step our game up. He had his own s**t that was priceless, he can’t be copied. But they say what don’t kill you only makes you stronger, the s**t that happened with $tacks, that’s all that it did, man. I gotta make sure that boy gets to live his dream out vicariously through us and through our music. I don’t know how it’s changed the flow, but it’s getting done. Lord knows I get tired of this sometimes, ‘cause I know this music industry is about a bunch of bullshit. But it pays the bills and it got me living the life, so I can’t complain at the same time. But this one definitely is for $tacks, by all means.

AllHipHop.com: Are you happy with how the album is coming out?

Jim Jones: The album is a beautiful thing. I just want people to really get a chance to be able to listen to the music, and not just the hype. People always get caught up in the hype, like, “Who’s on there? Do I know him?” These n***** can rap better than 90% of the industry, like literally, they get it. This music is crazy, this music put me back to ’94 ’95 when a n**** was really trying to come up and hustling. And that music’s what you put on to get hyped when you got outside. This is that music, this is the soundtrack to the streets, this they inspiration to go out and take them risks, ‘cause they ain’t giving us nothing.

AllHipHop.com: What level of success do you anticipate for Byrd Gang?
Jim Jones: I don’t like to anticipate, I don’t like to tell the future, I don’t like to do none of that. I know one thing: just the opportunity alone that was given to us, as far as being in this game, as far as being able to put an album in stores, as far as being signed to a major label. Just to have this opportunity to sell some real records, I am grateful. And it all depends on how hard we work and how wavy we make the music. And I think we can do it. We got longevity in this game. I think each one of these artists will step out and get they own solo career going on, or the group deal. They’re capable of carrying it on, but it’s gotta be done right. I gotta bust my ass as an artist also, as Jim Jones is concerned. Because the more successful I get makes it easier for them to be successful. So we play by the rules.
